ANCA Artist Profile - Andrew Kavunenko Painter   CURRICULUM VITAE / BIO 1956 - Born in Bowral NSW 1958 - Family relocated to Canberra 1974 - Completed HSC in Canberra 1976 to 1978 - Completed the Fine Arts Certificate and Post Certificate at East Sydney Tech. ( now, The National Art School ) majoring in Painting. 1980 - Solo exhibition at Studio 38 ( studio/gallery in Oxford St Darlinghurst Sydney 1981 - Solo exhibition at David Reids Gallery, Paddington, Sydney 1983 - Moved to Bowral NSW to raise family and pursue career in landscape gardening. 1984 - Solo exhibition at the Painters Gallery, Burton St, Darlinghurst 1985 to 1989 - Concentrated on landscape gardening 1989 to 1998 - Manager of gardens associated with The Heritage Park Hotel in Bowral NSW. 1991 - Resumed painting after about 5 years and became a regular contributor in local exhibitions. 1994 - Built studio at home. 1996 - Painting selected for `Project Belgium' travelling exhibition 1997 - Solo exhibition at the Berrima District Art Society gallery in Bowral. 1998 to 2004 - Self employed in garden design and construction. - Regular contributor to exhibitions at the Berrima District Art Society and the Southern highlands Regional Gallery. 1999 and 2000 - Included in `Carnivale' exhibition, Bowral. Dec. 2004 - 2 works in `Summer Salon', Bright Space Gallery in StKilda, Melbourne and 1 painting in the BDAS `Can Assist' invitation Charity Exhibition, Bowral. Jan. 2005 - Took up residence in Canberra. Oct. 2005 - Became studio resident at ANCA Inc. March 2006 – Solo exhibition at ANCA Gallery Sept 2006 – Participant in `Missing in Action' group exhibition at M16 Gallery in Fyshwick.
